Ian Rubin, MA
I'm a wellness coach, founder of Food Story Coaching®, coach educator, and adjunct faculty member at National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM) in Portland, Oregon.
As a veteran coach and educator with over two decades of experience in the health and wellness industry, I consult with businesses, agencies, organizations and wellness promotion companies to improve employee and/or client wellness efforts through enhancing the skills and abilities of their internal health coaches.
As an instructor with wellness professionals, my focus is on Health Coaching, Food Anthropology, and Food Story Coaching®, the latter being my proprietary approach to food coaching developed over the last 15 years in one-on-one and group work with clients. This approach is driven by my passionate interest in food culture and the intersection of the personal, social, psycho-spiritual, and anthropological forces that influence our daily food choices.

Ready to start feeling better about food, fitness, and your body, but wary of starting over again with another new diet or protocol? Perhaps it’s time to try something different that truly honors your whole self: body, mind, and spirit.
Unlike conventional nutrition programs, we won’t set you up with a restrictive meal plan and expect you to simply follow instructions. Instead, we’ll explore your unique, fascinating “food story”—the thoughts, beliefs, fears, desires, habits, memories, etc. that impact your daily routines and habits with food and health. We’ll get curious not only about what you’re eating, but all the various aspects of where, why, when, and how you’re showing up with food in your daily routines. From there, we set achievable goals and build sustainable plans that truly work with your values, personality, and life overall.

Kristin Kinnie, MS, MA
I’m a clinical nutritionist who loves nutrition science, but also cares about you, your food relationship, and how food makes you feel. Nutrition is my second career—I was a social worker before I became a nutritionist. This means I care not only about what you eat, but the emotions, thoughts, and feelings you have about what you eat. It all matters! I have a Master’s in Nutrition from the National University of Natural Medicine and a Master’s in Social Work from Walla Walla College. I’m also a certified Food As Medicine Everyday (FAME) instructor and really enjoy teaching nutrition and cooking classes as well as supporting clients 1:1 or in groups.
I’m passionate about helping people find freedom with food so they can live their best life–feeling fully alive! Yes, it’s possible to eat the foods you love, enjoy food that tastes good, AND nourish and support your body. I’m here to help you tune out all the external food “noise”–fad diets, food trends, superfoods, good/bad foods, etc and tune in to YOUR body and it’s internal wisdom. Through this process, we’ll discover the foods, movement, and mindset that will support you and help you feel your best. When you learn to listen to and trust yourself, you will be able to make lasting nutrition and lifestyle changes that will nurture and nourish both your body and soul.
